1. HUNTED
It was a cold night of winter when my parents went to a meeting in New York and left
me alone at home. After doing all the house work and tidy up my room, I went upstairs
to watch a film in my living room. Maybe watching a horror film when I’m alone at home
was not the best idea so I chose a comedy. Next to my couch there is a huge window
from where I can see the snowy mountains that hide behind the city and part of my
neighborhood. However, when that night I looked through it I saw something strange in
the house in front of mine.
I knew my neighbors were not at home since they told me that they would be away on
a holiday but I saw how a silhouette moved inside their home. I kept watching the
entertaining movie when I saw how something fell from the ceiling to the floor in the
house of the street in front of mine. First, I thought it was the wind but the leaves of
green and huge trees were not moving so that is the moment I knew something wrong
was happening.
My parents were friends of the family so they gave us some extra keys for caution, I
took them with me and I went to the mysterious house. After knocking in the door and
calling their phone for awhile I decided to enter and investigate what I saw from my
home. I opened the door and I started to go upstairs to the third floor where the weird
events had happened. Suddenly, a loud and strident noise came from one of the
rooms, I was paralyzed and my legs were not responding but, after a few minutes in
silence I kept going up.
Finally, I reached the room that had the window where I had seen the shadow, I
opened the lights as it was eleven o’clock in the night and I could not see where I was
going. As I entered the room I saw a figure of a lost and disoriented cat running away
from me through the window that my neighbors left open before they went on a holiday.
Fortunately, the cat left and I could close the window before other creatures entered
the house.
After checking there was not another animal inside I decided to leave. As it was late at
night I could not heard any sound or see any light just the streetlights that illuminate the
2. narrow streets. But, something changed; I started to hear the noise of an alarm and to
see some weird blue lights that lighted up all the first floor. When I opened the door to
leave the house, two cops were waiting for me outside. Some neighbors called the
police as they thought I was a thief that entered that house without permission, I tried to
explain myself but they took me to a police station where they called my parents.
