 To put Exchange archiving simply: 2 mailboxes per user
 Archive mailbox can be stored in Office 365
 To do it the other way round is not possible

 Make a basic decision for Office 365
 Think about reasons why it might not be possible to migrate 100 % of the users to the cloud in a
manageable time
 Consider the costs of cloud vs. hybrid
 Examine the reasons for hybrid, considering the costs critically and creatively
 Make a final decision for one scenario
 Re-evaluate the reasons in favor of the On Premise part on a regular basis. Adjust your strategy
accordingly

 Third party systems: more and more support Office 365
 Bandwidths: often less critical than you think. In case of doubt, an enhancement might make more
sense than Hybrid
 Legacy systems: may perhaps be removed
 Legal consideration: evaluation increasingly moves towards Pro Cloud
 Migration: completed after a certain time
 Functions and data volume: ongoing innovation by Microsoft

 Amortization of legacy systems is reached at some time
