This document provides a lesson plan to introduce British students to Spanish culture through the painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso. The plan is for a 60 minute science lesson on Spanish culture in the context of World War II. Students will use a jigsaw activity to share information and make predictions about which artwork depicts the Spanish Civil War, before reflecting on how art can reflect war and creating their own versions of Guernica.

- Introduce British kids to Spanish culture through Art using a jigsaw activity.

- Think and reflect how Art reflect a War.
- Predict which work of Art talks about the Spanish Civil War basing predictions on sharing information with peers, showing
interest and respect.

child back to the board to guess the topic using the student´s explanations.

-Think-Pair-Share: Students walk around the class to find partners with the same
definition. Expert Groups make prediction about which one of the four shown is the
Guernica.
