1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. My logo is very similar to Kerrang's logo both are white and have surrounding red headlines. I am comparing my magazine to this one of Kerrang. Both magazines are all about the genre of Rock. I have purposely used the red and white colour scheme as so as Kerrang magazine. I have purposely done this because red is a unisex colour and will appeal to both men and women Even though I have only a single picture on the front I think they are both still similar because of the way they look and are dressed. Both are in black and with long hair a typical stereotype of a rock fan. Both of our anchorage lines are on a diagonal and Some parts white. Both of the main headlines are in similar font and size. Also again both are white. The main anchorage line on the Kerrang magazines explains about a band who have played at a gig
3. My magazine is very similar to these examples below. 3 of the magazines are particularly similar such as the Kerrang magazine, NME and Q. This is because the fonts are very similar to mine and the colour scheme that they have chosen. Also the pictures on the front are very similar because they are of bands who look very rocky thanks to their outfits and their poses. The magazine Rock focuses more on past and old bands unlike mine and the others who focus more on up coming new bands and some old. Each magazines anchorage lines are of bands names which is also what I have done.
4. I have compared my magazine contents page to Kerrang's. I think that my magazine is similar because both are based on rock magazine and both use a lot of black and white. The photos used on the contents page are very similar because of the hair. They are both dressed very similar and look rocky. The text used on the page is similar aswell both contents page text are in the top left corner with other text below. The features in the magazine that are explained are very similar aswell they talk about other bands and freebies. The layout of the text is almost identical it flows down and in lines. Altogether my magazine compare a lot more to Kerrang's contents pages then any other. This is because of the text, style of photos and the words they use.
5. These are some of the contents pages that my magazine compare to. They all use the same kind of colour scheme of reds yellows and blacks. These are all unisex colours. The magazine that most compares to mine is NME this is because the colour schemes are very similar and the way that we have laid out our pages. The pictures used represent the text so the are photos of bands and singers. The use of the text is minimal as no one wants to be reading loads of text whilst trying to find a page number.
6. I am comparing my magazine to this one of NME it is very similar because of the colours used. The pictures are very similar they are both of s singer and both are wearing similar clothes and also have similar hair. The main headlines are very similar the layout are the same because of the colours are the same and the size. The text is similar as well because they are both white and the titles are red and the words and phrases are the same.
