This document provides an overview and guidance for applying for chartered status through the Association for Project Management (APM). Each should be a concise executive summary of up to 500 words
Describe any uncertainty or conflicting objectives
Explain any areas of unpredictability or risk
Highlight multiple work packages, projects or programmes
Describe stakeholders, particularly those with competing interests
And don’t forget:
- your overview should provide ‘hooks’ for your competence statements, and
- the assessors have all signed confidentiality agreements…

Demonstrate your competence against each of four criteria
Only refer to one project per competence
Each should cover rationale (why), approach (how) and outcome (what)
Ensure your evidence is explicit as possible – avoid ambiguity
Don’t forget this is your chance to shine and show your
competence and experience…
