The document discusses the declining state of retirement in the United States. It argues that this is likely the last generation that can retire at 65 due to dwindling savings, collapsing pensions and 401k plans, and the looming bankruptcy of Social Security. The economic recession has further weakened retirement prospects through job losses, falling home values that many relied on for retirement income, and fewer workers contributing to Social Security. As a result, many Americans will have to work far longer than planned or may not be able to retire at all.

As UX professionals, we spend a lot of our time thinking about the usability of software. But how often do you stop to think about how usable you are – to your colleagues, stakeholders and peers? Many of the same considerations apply to people as to applications. So if you find that you’re not getting your points across, getting materials thrown “over the wall” to you, or not being invited to the conversations you know you should be part of… maybe it’s time for a usability review. Luckily, there are some things you can do to help your “users” gain more understanding and to produce better outcomes for everyone. We’ll cover how to more effectively interact with a team in order to get benefits for yourself and for the whole team, preventing problems down the line while making your working life much happier.

10 Keys To Outsourcing By Ryan MortlandDavid Garland
Ten keys to outsourcing are outlined: 1) Define your core functions and outsource non-strategic operations. 2) Evaluate service providers thoroughly. 3) Clearly define the project scope and schedule in writing. 4) Don't choose based solely on price; consider total costs. 5) Review portfolios and samples. 6) Tie compensation to milestones. 7) Negotiate ownership and support up front and after. 8) Get all agreements in writing. 9) Start with a small, simple project. 10) Consider having staff oversee outsourced help.

Vendor selection: The vendor selection process is very straight forward as most of the vendors are have had good relations with real tech. The entire consultant team are offered by Real Tech itself. The office supplies are procured by the vendor name Staples. Finally, the laptops are procured by tech systems. The vendors are carefully analyzed by the buyers and are listed on the buyer’s approved vendor list of vendors. The vendors are rated based on the price, delivery time and quality of the products.
3. Selection Process & Criteria
The hardware and office supplies are based on the planned purchase order contract with the vendor. The consultants are interviewed before hand before onboarding the resources into the team.
4. Project Procurement Team
All procurement activities must initially get approval from the immediate manager and then the approval of the project manager. The project manager must document justify the need in a form of a document and present it to the project sponsors.
5.Contract Type:
The procurement strategy used by Tesla is called Fixed- Price Contract. This type of contract is also called Lump- sum contract. The reason for choosing this contract is that there is no uncertainty in the scope of the project. The purchasing module in the Oracle ERP software will help improve the procure to pay cycle in the organization.
