Executive Administrative Assistant
Managed school office and provided administrative assistance to professional and para-professional staff of charter
school which included 375 students in grades K-8.
• Responsible for all aspects of student enrollment including recruitment, lottery process and waitlist
management.
• Managed the various aspects of Count Day and responsible for data entered into mid-year and end-of-year
reports for state records.
• Oversight of administrative duties related to providing a daily hot lunch program for approximately 55% of the
student body.
• Collaborated with accounting services to manage accounts payable and receivables and produced monthly
financial reports for the Board. Managed the benefits program and payroll for all part time and full time staff.
• Served as backup assistant to health care professional on a daily basis as it related to sick or injured students.
Conference Planner and Meeting Consultant (Self Employed)
Specializing in the hospitality and nonprofit industry consulted with clients in the areas of operations and logistics
for the planning of conferences, meetings, conventions and trade shows.
• Responsible for all aspects of business ownership including sales and marketing, financial management, daily
operations and product delivery.
• Simultaneously managed three national conferences for five years with conference attendance ranging from
750 – 1200 each, budgets of $250,000 - $650,000, staffs of up to 10 and volunteers up to 100 each.
• Coordinated VIP reception, dinner and keynote address for a prospective US Presidential candidate who spoke
to an audience of 2,200.
• Developed progress reports using spreadsheets for budgets, registration and meal counts, and room blocks.
• Traveled as required to manage conference and meeting activities for clients.
Convention and Meetings Manager
Responsible for recommending site locations and venues for annual national conventions, leadership training
meetings, and board meetings.
Negotiated contracts with hotel venues for guest room accommodations and food and beverage in access of
$300,000, with audio visual companies for $25,000, with exposition companies for $15,000 and with destination
management companies for off-site events for $25,000.
Entered all conference registration data for 750 to 1,000 attendees and provided guest confirmations to each on
an annual basis.
