There is something lurking in the dark.
4. Key Characters:
Main Character: 17 year old teenager.
The friend: 19 year old teenager.
5. Synopsis;
Act 1:
The movie begins with the phone recording the ground in a street at night.
The camera is then being picked up by Eren (the main character) who looks at
it with fear, he then looks back and as he hears a roar coming from behind him
so he starts to run with the phone, he runs around the town and tries to
escape the monster.
He stops somewhereand keeps quite, the camera films the shadow of the
monster on the building, the monster then retreats as it didn’t see him.
The guy then turns the phone to himself and starts filming himself to
messageone of his friends. Justas he finishes the monsters growlis heard
froma close distance. He slowly turns his head around to take a look at the
monster and drops the phone, he is seen crying and screaming. The screen
goes black.
Act 2:
Erdem (Eren’s friend) wakes up from a nap. He then goes to his roomand
starts going through socialmedia and sees that he got a messagefrom his
friend a while ago, he opens the video messageand starts watching.
He listens to his friend’s message, thefriend explains how he heard a rumour
about a local monster that comes out at nights and attacks people so he

2. decided to take a walk around the town to see if it was real or not. Erdem then
listens to his friend’s warning about the town centre and tells him to call the
authorities. Then he watches how he is attacked by the monster although the
monster isn’t seen as the screen goes black.
The messagefinishes, Erdem sits back and thinks whether his friend is just
pranking him or if it was a real message. He decides to call him to tell him that
it’s not a funny joke. But no one picks up. He gets worried and decides to hunt
down the monster thinking that it’s justa prank.
Act 3:
Erdems goes into exactly the samespot wherehis friend had sent him the
message. He looks around and sees nothing. Justas he starts to think it’s his
friend pranking him he hears the sameroar from the message. He turns
around and takes a look around him. He shouts out saying it’s not funny
anymore.
The monster then roars in a close distance so Erdem starts running in the
town. He tries to escapebut the monster follows him until he gets into a dark
alley and gets stuck. The monster closes in, his shadow in seen on Erdem, the
screen goes dark and the monster roars as Erdem screams.
6. Target Audience:
The audience is people over 15 years of age. The movie consists of scenes
that may not be suitable for watchers under age of 15. To be able to achieve
that audience I wanted to startoff the movie with scenes of horror movie
conventions.
7. Formand Style:
I will need a digital camera that will help me edit the footage easier and
quicker. I will also need a tripod to make surethat there is no movement in
between the scenes and so that the audience will have the best quality footage
possible.
8. Marketplace:
The shortfilm will be a solo movie, it is more likely to be showed on festivals
and shared online via social media.
