2. Front Cover Process
I tried to make a fashion magazine front
cover but in a style I like as usual they have
bright pastel colors such as pinks and
yellows. I think the masthead stands out
and the font fits perfectly, the placement
of the text and the font I think are just
right, the only thing I wish I fix was the
brightness of the models face as I think it is
a little to bright and doesn’t fit right on the
page so I would definitely darken it a little
so it didn’t look like she was glowing.
The color scheme works well and
contrasted each other efficiently. My main
idea for the masthead was to fade the
bottom of the text so it looked like it was
fading away into nothingness however I
started to play around with the fading
setting and accidently faded the bright red
and the dark red together to create the
masthead I have now and I think I like this
one better then my original idea.
3. Reflection
I would like to include the placement of the text as non of it covers the models face and the small
amount of text that does overlap the model is very subtle and still look professional, I like the fonts I
used for the articles as the are bold but also faint as the font it’s self is very simple but the colours I
selected and the size makes it stand out. The masthead is definitely my favourite piece of the my
magazine mock cover as the font is subtle, but unique at the same time and the fading of the colour
works well and fits the colour scheme and also fits what the model is wearing which is a main part in my
production that I want to keep, I want to be able to watch the colour scheme with whatever colour of
clothing the model is wearing.
I overall think I will take a lot from this front cover mock as I do really like it and think everything works
well together, however I don’t think I will be using the same colour scheme even though in this magazine
it works wonderfully , I just want my final production to look different to this my experimental one.
The name vision I do like as it is short, simple and easy to remember, because of this reason I might keep
the name for my magazine as I haven’t heard a magazine called vision that is a fashion magazine,
however this could change if I think of a better name.
5. Reflection
For my first double page spread I want to have on page with just the image and the other with just the
text like I have done in my mock, I will use this on my first two pages to talk about the main model on the
front, the rest of the pages will be similar but not the exact same as I want the first two pages to stand
out more then the rest.
I will also keep the wrap text effect as I think it makes the page look aesthetically pleasing to look at and
it is very easy to read, I will also use the large letter at the start of the page just to show the audience
where to start reading from and it also makes the page look more interesting, however I don’t know if I
will use the colour fade on my text, depending on what colour scheme I go for and how well the colours
look when they are blended together like they are in my mock will depend on if I will copy this on my
magazine or not.
The font is very simple and basic which is perfect for people to great as they are not struggling to
understand the font so I may also use a simple font like I have on this experiment, I will also put it in
italics as it just makes the page look more appealing
