THREE KINGS IN
GAPAN CITY

and oldest churches in

It is a burda which is
painstakingly made by three
groups of people – the
designer, the embroiderer,
and the cutter.
The most common motifs for
their embroidery are leaves
and flowers.
18. BALISONG
It is also known as a butterfly
knife.
Its name is derived from
“bali” which means broken
and “sungay” which means
horn.
This is a type of knife
which can be folded.
20. The town of Lucban if famous for the Pahiyas Festival
celebrated on the 15th of May to honor San Isidro Labrador,
the patron saint of farmers.
During the festival, the townspeople decorate their houses
with products and colorful thin rice wafers called Kiping.

1. Fold a piece of colored paper 2-3 times.
2. Draw a design. It may include local plants, flowers,
everyday objects, or practices like the one shown in
the photo. You may also include words or names in
the design.
3. With extreme precaution, cut out your design using
scissors, blade or small cutter and lay it on the table
for evaluation.
