PARALLELISM/PARALLEL STRUCTURE
In English grammar, parallelism is the
repetition of the same structure or grammatical
form in two or more parts of a sentence.
“It is better to
give than
receiving.”

It is commonly used in sentences containing
elements that appear in a series or in pair.
Reading novel books, writing poems, and
sharing my knowledge are the things that I

PARALLELISM IN DEFINITION
Directions: Determine whether the following sentences
are parallel in structure or not.
1. Memory is something remembered in the past. It can
be stored within the mind, in a photo album, or
captured in a mobile phone.
2. Hobby pertains to an activity done regularly in one’s
leisure time. It can be reading books, to ride a bicycle,
and playing mobile games.

doing his/her tasks.
