1. Q1 Q2
Q1-The results that I have collected are biased as I specifically sent it out to 4 males and 4 females. I did this purposely to get a
balanced amount of results. This will affect my outcome because then it can help make my documentary suitable for both male
and female.
Q2-The ages that filled in this survey consisted from 25-40 and 16-25 year olds, the reason why I choose these different age
limits was because the style of documentary that I will be producing is human behaviour more suitable to younger adults and
teens. This will affect my outcome as I know what ages suit what genre, therefore determine what my documentary style will
be, and the age that it is suitable for.
2. Q3 Q4
Q3- In terms of ranking the styles of documentary's for question 3, it came back that everyone had a
different preference to what they watch. However it is evident that human behaviour is dominated in this
survey. In comparison to wildlife and sport were they aren’t as popular to watch. This may be influenced
because of the generation and the age difference that completed the survey.
Q4- This question was a balanced argument, 50% saying yes and the other 50% saying no. This could be
gender biased, two women said they like to watch documentaries alongside 2 men and then 2 men and
women said they don’t like watching documentaries, this could be a trend that is set or could identity the
style of documentaries that men and women both like. This may affect my outcome because it is a split
decision about people liking and not liking documentaries so only a few people would be interested to
watch my documentary.
3. Q5 Q6
Q5- in terms of the most popular institution, it was very clear that the BBC dominated this question, with 50%. BBC is one of the most popular TV institutions that produce a lot of
different documentary's genres. ITV didn’t get any votes which may be because I limited the amount of people which the survey was sent to, and maybe some people weren’t being
brutally honest with their choices. This may have an impact on my outcome because, it determines people preferences and preferred channels , which may lead my decision to change.
Q6- This question was a question which was left to the audiences own opinions simply creating an active audience. As you can see there are a lot of different answers about the channel
which they watch documentary's on, some more similar than others.
4. Q7 Q8
Q7- The majority of people being 50% said that they would want to see archive footage, rather than text, voiceovers and
interviews. I think the archive footage helps engage with the audience more because they actually get to see some aspects of
the tragic events that happened.
Q8- There are a lot of different types and styles of documentaries that people watched from Plant earth to sex, drugs and
murder: life in the red light zone.
5. Q9 Q9- it is clear that the tablet and tv dominates all the other
sources that people watch programmes on. I think it is clear
that more and more people are becoming attached to their
phones and watching programmes on BBC iPlayer, ITV., which
will eventually dominate the Television industry.
