- Austria has a complicated emergency response system with responsibilities divided among its nine states and uses multiple emergency numbers alongside 112. - A pilot project in Lower Austria has been using Android Mobile Location (AML) since October 2016, receiving over 345,000 location datasets. - Google's EML by Android provides a simple way to implement AML via SMS and HTTPS, and location accuracy varies from meters to kilometers depending on the location method. - Over 50,000 transmissions used HTTPS only without a phone number, and real emergency situations demonstrated accurate location data helping to direct response teams.

• Austria has a complicated PSAP structure with responsibilities on the
level of each of the nine federal states, and a wide-spread usage of the
traditional emergency numbers (alongside 112).
• NNOE (AT pilot site) is NO 112 PSAP. 112 is currently not AML connected
in AT.
• Pilot operations with AML since 15.10.2016: 345133 datasets (until 15.3.2017)

3. Implementation and Accuracy
• Google ELS by Android provided us with a reliable and „simple“ way
to implement AML via SMS and HTTPS.
