The document discusses choosing an indie rock music magazine genre that focuses on an older audience rather than children. It provides examples of such magazines including Rolling Stone, NME, and Q Magazine. The genre was selected because indie rock is a widely known, growing genre with famous bands like Muse, Arctic Monkeys, and The Killers.
1. My magazine genre shall be very generally
based around indie rock music but focusing
slightly on an older audience more than

are ‘Rolling Stones’ magazine, ‘NME’and

2. Indie rock magazines are usually aimed at an older
audiences and contain articles that have mature
material in them. This means indie magazines will
usually have designs that use neutral and basic
colours. The lack of bright colours makes it obvious
that the magazine is aimed at an audience that
does not include children.
The cover of an indie rock magazine is usually neat
and uncluttered; it will also usually contain a single
large image to show what the main story in the
magazine is and smaller stories around it. This sort of
magazine usually has all writing placed around the
edge along with the smaller story images and
information.
A giveaway is a common feature of an indie rock
magazine and is usually located at the top of the
cover to help with its advertising.
The artist that features on the front is usually a very
well known artist that the magazine wants to use to
advertise the magazine further.
