2. My final product is an indie rock magazine and fits
in with the typical stereotype of a “indie” genre.
The colours I have used to create the house style
throughout my magazine are red, grey, black and
white which tend to link to teenagers who are
interested in this genre. The dark colours stereotype
rock.
The males I have used on my front cover are
wearing dark clothing which fit in with the style of
my target audience. The dark clothing also
stereotypes the rock genre as well as the bomb on
one of the models shirts stereotyping rebellion and
distruction.
3. My magazines primary audience is quite equal
however the majority are female so I needed to
make my magazines appeal to both genders.
Typically a indie rock magazine features a band on
the front cover with the main artist in the centre.
However, I have went against this stereotype and
put a duo on my front cover.
The use of stereotypical dark colours appeals to
the audience of teenagers of both genders.
4. I had to create my magazine to suit the typical
age of my target audience, being 14 to 21 with an
average of 17.
To help appeal more to the audience I researched
magazines with a similar target audience, such as
NME and Kerrang!
I also created my stories to suit all readers instead
of just one particular group of them.
5. I have given my magazine the price of
£2.50 with an issue date of every fortnight to
make it affordable for younger readers.
The artist I’ve chose to use are also0
presented as a working class which appeals
to most classes and backgrounds.
They’re wearing clothing which the readers
of my magazine would also appeal to and
would take inspiration from, making the
reader feel as they can relate more to
them.
