Nylon is an American multi-platform media company and magazine focused on pop culture and fashion. It was first published in 1999 and features content on art, beauty, music, design, celebrities and travel. Nylon pioneered collaborations with digital platforms like MySpace and has expanded internationally. While initially received with criticism, it developed a following for its unique style blending music and fashion across different mediums.

feel that its closely linked to my own idea for a
magazine and is of a similar style to what I imagine
mine will be. The magazine also features the same
genre of music and idea of current music and fashion
together.

critics "British music fans won't take
much from Nylon they haven't
already absorbed" from other
magazines.
• Jennifer Cox described it as "bold,
idiosyncratic, challenging,
absolutely of-the-moment," but
unnoticed by "the mainstream" until
March 2001, when Nylon was
nominated for the ASME National
Magazine award
