2. Developing Training Module
• After identifying the training needs and
determining training objectives, training contents
are to be developed
• Training contents can be divided into different
parts to achieve the sub-objectives of training
programme
• These sub-divisions of training content can be
termed as modules
• Thus, in a module, contents for achieving one or
two objectives of training can be arranged
3. While developing and constructing training module
one has to consider the following:-
Learning theories, Pedagogy and andragogy
The sequence of arrangement of contents in the
module – psychological arrangement – known to
unknown – easy to difficult
Shall help the learner to move easily from one module
to another without impeding the learning process
Profile of the trainees – their knowledge and skill levels
at the commencement of the training, expectation of
trainees, objectives of training programme, availability
of training materials and competence of trainers
Learning or training objectives
4. Education and training are meant to create desired
behavioral changes
In training programme, through different modules, aim
to raise the KSA level of the trainees to a particular
level, termed as criterion behavior
- The level of knowledge with which a person comes to
attend the training programme is the initial behavior
- The knowledge after attending the raining with which
he leaves is termed as the terminal behavior
- Criterion behavior is the knowledge planned to be
imposed to the learner through the training
programme
5. To impart the criterion behavior different methods and
techniques are used – based on learning theories and
principles
At the end of each module evaluation is conducted to
ascertain the achievement
Development of training modules comprises :-
• Deciding the course objective
• Decision the learning environment
• Pre-conditioning of learning (measurement of initial
behavior)
• Ascertainment of the extend of terminal behavior
• Gaining and support of trainees and others
• Considering the learning environment
6. While developing training module, the following
questions are asked:-
• Who are the trainees
• What are the initial behaviours?
• Who are the trainees?
• What criterion behavior have been finalized?
• What are the methods and techniques?
• What should be the level of learning?
• Where to conduct the learning?
• How terminal behaviour is measured?
• The method post-training impact etc
