Meditation: MBSR
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program
This program is modelled after the Stress Reduction
clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical
Center and the work of Dr.’s Jon Kabat-Zinn
and Saki Santorelli; and has been evaluated for
over 30 years in many medical centers worldwide
for effectiveness in reducing stress and pain and
improving mood.
Research has shown that the majority of people
who complete the program have:
• improvements in emotional & physical well being
• an increased ability to relax
• greater energy and enthusiasm for life
• a greater ability to cope with stressful situations
• more restful sleep
• improved self-esteem
• less anxiety and panic
• reduction in pain levels & pain-related behaviours
This group is not offered on a drop-in basis. All participants
in the MBSR Meditation Program must sign-up with

The Program Includes:
• 8-week, 2 hour evening classes; plus a
Saturday mini retreat (9AM – 2PM)
• Group Dialogue
• Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness
in everyday life
• Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation
practices (sitting, walking, eating)
• Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
What to bring?
A yoga mat, blanket, or pillow and a water bottle.
Wear comfortable clothing. No previous experience
in meditation required.
