• Provision of Article 88 of Industrial Act
• Employer must take necessary precautions to protect
employees from injury and dangers by-
• (a)Making sure adequate safety and hygienic conditions exist
in all over the place of work
• (b)Making sure that places of work are always clean and they
comply with healthy and comfortable conditions.

• Making sure that machinery, equipment are installed and
maintained in the safest possible way.
• The employer is not allowed to impose on his workers or
deduct from their wages any amount to meet such
provisions of protection.

• Provision of Article 89 of Industrial Safety Act:
• It covers the following-
• (a)General precaution for protecting health in all places of
work especially safety, lighting and ventilation, drinking
water, lavatories, places to sleep and prevention against fire.

• (b)Special precaution for certain type of work such as
chemical work.
• The ministry may appoint inspectors to see that employers
are carrying out the instructions issued from the minister
specially stipulated in Article 89.

• The Factories Act
• It covers businesses using machinery. It includes-
• (a)Adequate toilet facilities to be provided.
• (b)Interior of building to be heated and ventilated.
• Floors, stairs and passages must be free from obstructions.
• Floors should not be slippery
• Machines should have protective fence to avoid injury.
• Fire escapes should be present.
