 Service enterprises are not engaged in buying
and selling.
 Rather, they are engaged in providing services
to people and organization.
 Example: barber shop, restaurant, tour
operators, travel agency, dentist shop, shoe
repair shop, photographer shop

4. Small Manufacturing
Enterprises
 Small manufacturing enterprises engage in
basic manufacturing activities that do not
involve complex processes or technology.
 Also they may not involve huge capital.
 Example: bread making enterprises, soap
making enterprises, note book making
enterprises.

5. Handicrafts
 Handicrafts are mostly defined as "Items made
by hand, often with the use of simple tools,
and are generally artistic and/or traditional in
nature.
 They are also objects of utility and objects of
decoration.

6. Agriculture, agro based products,
fisheries and livestock
 Farming and cultivation of various crops and
vegetables is called agriculture and the
processing and the sale of the fruits and other
cultivated products refers to agro based
business.
 Agriculture, livestock (animal farms) and
fisheries are among the oldest and most
important sectors of the Omani economy.
 Oman is one of the main fish-producing
countries in the gulf region and the fisheries
sector is among its most promising sectors.

7. Retail Trade / Wholesale Trade
 Retail trade refers to the sales of goods in
small quantities directly to the customers.
 Retail establishments are often called shops or
stores.
 Example: Departmental stores, shops selling
Gifts, perfumes and chocolates, cloths and
garments (online retail)
