 With more than 20 years of experience working in
the home building and land development industry,
Darwin Horan is the president and chief executive
officer of Ventana Capital, located in Englewood,
Colorado. Heavily involved in his community,
Darwin Horan supports several nonprofit
organizations, one of which includes the
Challenge Foundation.
Established during the 1990s, the Challenge
Foundation provides academic opportunities for
at-risk youth. The organization offers scholarships,
tutoring, mentoring, and college preparedness.

3. Challenge Foundation
 Since the organization relies heavily on volunteers
and donations, it encourages individuals to
contribute financially. Online, they can make
donations through www.coloradogives.org or pay
through PayPal. If they prefer to mail in a money
order or check, they can send it directly to the
Challenge Foundation’s location.
If individuals would like to donate in-kind
contributions, the nonprofit accepts tickets to
sporting events or theater productions, dentistry or
orthodontic services, and airline miles to cover
costs for college visits or school trips.
