2. Classical magazine
Mast head
The mast head uses serif font as
it looks more classy than other
fonts and links to the classical
themes and in turn their target
audience.
House style
As this is a classical magazine the
colours tend to be black and white
as these are seen as classical
colours. But they also use Red for
the Sub-headings this makes this
part of the cover stand out.
Headline
The main subject of this article
is the incredibly famous Paul
McCartney so the designer
decided to just use his second
name as there readers will
instantly recognise him, they
also chose to put the writing in
gold to symbolise that he is of
legendary status.
3. Indie magazine
Plug
This article uses the band names and free
things to advertise what is in the
magazine by attracting readers who may
not be interested in the headline band or
artist but interested in the behind the
scenes information involved in other
bands. Unlike the classical magazine the
indie magazine uses a less formal font as
their readers are not interested in that.
House style
Kerrang uses a more informal and Chaotic style
as there are small parts of text put all over the
cover than the classical magazine which focuses
more on looking formal and well organised. The
indie magazine also uses a larger pallet of
colours than classical as that one uses only gold
black and white while indie uses a greater
amount of Red to attract the readers attention
and add to the Chaotic look.
Mast head
The Kerrang logo itself also links
to the chaotic feel of the magazine
and sticks to a similar colour pallet
as the rest of the magazine in
order to keep a house style, But
mainly the logo itself is seemingly
all broken up this is original and
attracts the attention of fans.
