Working Title: The Total War-fare Experience
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose: It will be an informative piece in which information on the game will be
given and unit types along with how to use them effectively will be shown.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre: Podcast
What sort of product is it
Content
In my product, I will go over the many different types of real units in the well-known ‘Total War’
game series. I will begin going over the types of units available and will give an overall
introduction. I will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each base unit in the game and give
information about the tactics that work best with that particular unit. I will also talk about the
concept of unit abilities and what abilities there are to choose from with each unit and give
examples of when they could be useful in battles. For example, the ability ‘inspire’ giving a
selected unit a morale and attack boost. I will include sounds related to what I’m talking about
(hopefully I can get sounds from the game to add in) and music used during the battles in the
game. I will talk more about the battlefield as both the battlefield and the world map would be too
long to talk about in detail for the length my product will be. The product will be split up into four
segments: Generals, Foot-Soldiers, Ranged, and Cavalry.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience:
My audience is whoever plays strategy games – preferably the Total War series but no matter if
not. Male teens that like the concept of history and who love hard core gaming instead of casual
gaming will like my product. My product will appeal to this sort of person by giving them a possibly
needed tutorial on how to effectively engage in battle on Total War.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
There will be no offensive material in my final product.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
No, I have no reason to restrict my product as it does not show any graphical content. It is just me
giving tips and explaining things for players of the game. Younger people will most likely quickly
get bored as they have no idea about what I am discussing due to them not being able to play
Total War yet.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
No racial groups or social groups will be offended from my product.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
I will make sure of this by keeping the language used formal and strict. I will assure that I do not
target any religions and single them out and I will speak of all religions equally if at all.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
I will be using characters used in the Total War game series that are mentioned throughout the
campaigns and music from the game.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
My product will be sufficiently different from existing products as the majority of guides to Total
War are video based and couldn’t be used at the same time as playing. My unique aspect to my
product is the fact that there are no other audio based tutorials. This means that people can
multitask the game and my product and not have to alternate between them.
