Project proposal title and date:
Covid-19 vs the British army recruitment.
Main area of activity
I am going to make a video/ documentary format. Thurs 1 oct 2020
Target Audience
My target audience is going to be ages 16-20, male, balanced psychographic from the
UK/commonwealth, who are in c2de social status. I will try to appeal to my target audience by
Keeping my documentary short and fast paced which will appeal to the age group I am wanting to
appeal and the psychographic as they are used to watching short quick paced episodes due to
YouTube and other streaming platforms, including interviews and a commentator who talks over
some of the footage. I will try appeal to males from the UK/Commonwealth by having my
documentary in English. My primary audience will be people who are wanting to join the British
army and wanting more information on the recruitment process. My secondary audience will be
either people interested in the army or parents watching with their children.
Rationale:
Throughout the year I have learnt how to properly do pre-production evidence and correctly plan
for production. I have also learnt how to format and fill my pre, during and post production
documents with the correct evidence. I am going to use this knowledge to help me create and
prepare my project. There are 2 past projects that will massively help me with my current work,
which are the audio and video projects and I have learnt how to edit effectively audio and video
which will help me as I am wanting to create a mini documentary which will require audio and
video.
Project Concept:
I am wanting to make a mini documentary about how the covid-19 global pandemic has affected
the British army’s recruitment process and what it means for the future of recruitment for the
foreseeable future. I will need to conduct research in the field of documentary making and editing, I
will also have to research how the army’s recruitment process has changed and why, this will help
me with creating my product as I will have a better understanding of what I am wanting to make
and what I am making it about. I will do my research by using my own and peers’ experiences and
google for a lot of it, but will also use others experiences to help me. My research will use
references from the army’s website and other online sources, I will also try and get some
information from the local army careers centre and use that to influence my film making and
questions/ dialogue for my project.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
My project will be evaluated first via after every day of work I will evaluate the work done
and its quality, I will also evaluate my work as a whole once completing the production
element. This process will teach me to reflect on the quality of my work and make sure that
I am doing enough work to a good enough standard.

Week Specific Tasks
1 Production [in/out?]
2 Production [in/out?]
3 Production [in/out?]
4 Production [in/out?]
Be aware which of those weeks are in or out of college,as you may need to plan different tasks around other
work when workingremotely. Budget for approximately 30 hours for production – which is roughly two weeks
of your in collegetime.
