Designing IA for AI - Information Architecture Conference 2024
Technologies Used Throughout My Production Course
1. Throughout My Production I used a
Series Of Different Technologies In
Order To Make My Products And
Complete The Course.
Throughout the course I used blogger throughout to
regularly post up onto my blog any work I have completed
within class or any work completed at home. In using this
website, I learnt how to use and make blogs. As well as this, I
Kept a simple light grey colour scheme. I also added a
playlist from the website Mixpod.com, this was in order to
demonstrate the music my target audience would be
listening too.
2. Photoshop
I used the gradient tool to set the background of my music magazine
cover
The effects consisted of the
angle in which the gradient
came in from and the opacity
of the gradient which I kept at
100%, thus opaque.
I used a series of different text
layers and layers to create my
magazine.
3. Photoshop Continued…
I then added the images I had taken using a state
of the arc DLR camera, with a pan zoom to really
catch every detail within a picture, thus creating a
higher quality final product. Also supporting this
picture, we used professional lighting equipment
also to improve quality.
To improve the photo I also used the auto level
tool within Photoshop to improve the composition
of the photo.
You will find the auto tone, colour and contrast
options within the image option on the selection
bar at the top of the page.
4. InDesign
InDesign is made by the same makers of the
program Photoshop, therefore they consist of
similar tools which I applied also to both. In the
screenshot to the left you will see I have adopted
the same approach of using layers within the
production, thus allowing me to hide the layers to
concentrate on another.
I used a series of tools within the program
to get my overall finished product, I used
the shape tool to create the boxes to place
such things as photos and text options
within them. Again I used the gradient tool
to create my background which I also used
in my Front cover production.
5. I used these websites in order to publish my
PowerPoint presentation so that it would
present me with an embedded code to publish
onto my blog so that my presentation can be
published onto my blog as of how it would look
on the PowerPoint giving it a rather professional
and collective finish.
However the program scribd. is slightly different Prezzi Is a website that allows you
in the way in which it presents the PowerPoint to create a presentation that pans
presentation, it is a presentation that instead of and zooms from different areas
transitions through clicking a button(slideshare) with in the creation. The set-up of
thus moving onto the next slide, it is a the website is rather simple and
continuous scroll of the presentation with no self explanatory, and without
need to click. tutorials in using the
website/program I grasped the
program within minutes due to its
simple layout and tools.
6. Jing captures anything on your computer
screen, as an image or short video, whilst
doing a recording over it, thus allowing you to
talk through your work, whilst guiding the
audience with the mouse. It also allows you to
share it instantly via screencast.com, why
provides one with an embedded code for you
to upload onto any website such as blogger. I
used this program in talking about my
production work.
I used internet explorer very frequently, as this was
drastically important to the courses specifications. The
course specifications required us to complete research on
various magazines in order to get an idea for ourselves of
a typical convention included in a music magazine. I also
used this in order to access my blog via blogger.com.
7. Other Helpful Technologies That I Used…
I used hyperlinks throughout my blog in order to set paths in which a reader can
follow to view either a website in which have used and hyperlinked onto my blog
for reference or where I have hyperlinked previous blog posts for a reader to go
back to view and see my previous work.
I have also used embedded codes in order for one to show or present a flash or
video file, for instance in previous blog posts where I have uploaded videos from
YouTube, or presentations via prezzi, slideshare or scribd.
As well as videos, I also uploaded images in which have been to demonstrate work
or images that I have found while researching and that I feel may be helpful to me.
To get a grasp with programs, we were shown basic tutorials within
lessons, however to further develop my skills I logged onto a website called
independent learning that allowed me to watch video tutorials on program such as
InDesign and Photoshop, in which I did not have vast experience in using, these
tutorials further developed my basic knowledge, thus allowing me to produce work
of a good standard and work in which I am pleased with.
