 Jam production is in food and beverage industry and this industry is important for Sri Lankan
economy.
 In Sri Lanka there are large scale sellers like Cargills, MDK, KVC, Edinborough.
 Their prices and quality are higher

 Types of jam packages are bottle jam[450g,250g] ,100g cup jam & bulk jam-5kg.
 In rural areas the demand – Low & In urban areas the demand – High

• Jam bulks for organizations that use jam as a raw material

4. Company Background
 “J.M. Group” was built in 1994. by Mr. J. M. S. Jayasinghe as “J. M. Food Products”.
 It was a sole proprietorship without any employee.
 The factory is situated in Thiriwanegama, Kalagedihena .
 Firstly they have produced jam , sauce and cordial
 In 2012 they expanded their business by adding a IT consultant firm and drinking water
bottle manufacturing firm and become J.M Groups.
 The assets in factory is around million

 Buying machine using proper procurement method
 Use proper method to transport fruit (Ex-palet, vacum
packaging)
 Use quality improvement methods(Ex-fishbone diagram, flow
chart)
