What is the TAP TAP Indicators ¨ Rubric of instructional behaviors ¨ Associated with higher student achievement ¨ A little about the rubric – in the middle is where you want to be  Indicator vs. Descriptor Indicators are the 6 categories on the left side, descriptors are the bullets under the categories: exemplary, proficient and unsatisfactory.
Remember! In the middle is where you want to be! A score of proficient (3) is Rock Solid!
How is TAP used in Tech Teach ¨ Relevance of the curriculum ¨ A&E assignments (every semester) ¨ Instructors model (or should) ¨ Instructors’ development ¨ Performance Assessments during student teaching

Academic Feedback: • In EDLL 3352, the TAP indicator we target is Academic Feedback. • Using the TAP handout, look under the category of 3. Starting at the descriptor of “Most learning objectives and state content standards are communicated”, highlight key words. (see next slide) • Remember, we are staying in the middle, so for right now, focus your attention on the 3 category.

Academic Feedback Look at the handout from Blackboard: “Bank of Statements" to give specific academic feedback” • Great job, you correctly told me that Trixie is one of the characters in Knuffle Bunny. • Awesome job with your beginning & ending sentences—just like the circular text structure in the book we read “The Relatives Came.” • You are right, car does have 3 phonemes. • That is correct!The reason it was such a perfect answer is that spiny anteaters and duckbill platypuses do lay eggs. • Yes! Fish is a fantastic answer because fish do lay eggs.

What is the TAP TAP Indicators ¨ Rubric of instructional behaviors ¨ Associated with higher student achievement ¨ A little about the rubric – in the middle is where you want to be  Indicator vs. Descriptor Indicators are the 6 categories on the left side, descriptors are the bullets under the categories: exemplary, proficient and unsatisfactory.
  • 7. Remember! In the middle is where you want to be! A score of proficient (3) is Rock Solid!
  • 8. How is TAP used in Tech Teach ¨ Relevance of the curriculum ¨ A&E assignments (every semester) ¨ Instructors model (or should) ¨ Instructors’ development ¨ Performance Assessments during student teaching
  • 10. Academic Feedback: • In EDLL 3352, the TAP indicator we target is Academic Feedback. • Using the TAP handout, look under the category of 3. Starting at the descriptor of “Most learning objectives and state content standards are communicated”, highlight key words. (see next slide) • Remember, we are staying in the middle, so for right now, focus your attention on the 3 category.
