POSITION: Group Parts Manager
COMPANY OVERVIEW: A major regional Motor Dealership group selling GM Holden,
Land Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar, Volvo, Tata, Isuzu Trucks,
and Hyundai Forklifts, in addition to distributorships for PPG
Paints, Valvoline Oil and Century Batteries as well as a United
Tools tool store.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Analyzed and identified the issues causing the poor
performance, lack of efficiency and excessive aged stock in
the primary GM Parts Department, and similar issues in the
European Makes Parts Department.
• Planned and executed physical merge of all motor vehicle
parts departments to a single warehouse and DMS Branch
merge to acquire inventory.
• Analyzed and identified issues with DMS system causing
ordering errors and failures, supersession allocation
failures, and cataloguing a total of over 250 DMS related
issues.
• Put forward and drove the proposal to change the
Dealership Management System.
• Prepared and implemented all Parts infrastructure for new
DMS including, Source codes, movement codes, price
codes, Makes setups, General ledger adjustment codes, and
all Parts setups with less than four weeks notice from go
ahead to go live.
• Provided both group, and one on one training to parts staff

• Increased, GM Holden Retail Inventory Management
(RIM) compliance from less the 40% to 90% providing
more correct and valid stock for immediate sale, and
reducing open repair orders as a result of less need to
rebook for parts orders.
• Increased first pick rate from non-existent to over 90%
• Increased revenue to both Parts and Service through
increased sales on the day.
• Reduced oversupply of front end stock by optimizing
movement codes and lead times.
• Completely re-binned the entire warehouse including
implementation of bar-coded binning.
• Given the state of the parts business when I took it over, the

COMPANY OVERVIEW: A two Franchise Motor Dealership selling New Toyota and
Suzuki Motor Vehicles and Used vehicles.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Made a significant contribution to the company’s
performance by securing and retaining a substantial and
consistent trade client base. (Increased from 1 only Smash
Repair customer in the PMA to 100% of Smash Repair and
significant increase in Mechanical Trade Customers and
conversion of non genuine to genuine)

People.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Made a significant contribution to the company’s
performance by securing and retaining a substantial and
consistent trade client base.
• Consistently exceeded monthly targets and retained higher
business levels
• Reduced dead stock (12 months no move) from 80% at
takeover down to under 30% in under 24 months, freeing
up resources to carry current saleable lines.
• Increased stock order/daily order buying ratio from 12% at
takeover to benchmark levels in under 12 months, resulting
in increased profit margins and improved current parts
availability.
