More about the first university in Vietnam: This activity activates students’ knowledge
and experience about the Temple of Literature.

Materials needed: Worksheets
Time: 15 mins
Procedure:
1. Ask the class to see how many of them have been to the Temple of Literature.
2. Now put them into pairs or groups of three. Make sure that in each pair/group there
is at least one person who has been to the above place and at least one who
hasn’t.
3. Tell the ones who have visited the Temple of Literature recall their memory about
their visit and think about some main information such where it is, when it was built,
what people can do and see there, how they felt about that visit and any other
related things.
4. Also ask the ones who haven’t been there think about what they really want to
know. It’s better to give them some hints as above and encourage them to add their
own questions.
5. When the preparation is over, each them to ask and answer the questions.
6. Go round the class to monitor and provide some helps if needed.
7. When the conversation finishes, ask the ones who have not visited the Temple
whether they got the answers they need/really want to know and if they have found
out any interesting things about the Temple.
