2. Why have you chosen your production company
logo?
We decided to use our production company logo as it fits well within our genre
it is quite dark and mysterious it creates suspense for what is going to happen
within the film and it represents fear as it is a gas mask on its own on a white
background these are all generic conventions of our genre which means that
our production company logo is a good choice for our film opening. We have
kept our logo pretty simple as it is a mask on its own on a white background
this means that the audience would not get to confused on what are production
logo means. We have are name of our production company on the bottom
which is C.M.D.J productions we have named our production company after
both of our names as we thought it would allow our audience to know who
created the film they are watching so they can research about it in the future.
3. What is a production company? What do they
do?
A production company is responsible for the development
and physical production of new media. Production
companies are involved in creating movies,TV programmes
etc. They are responsible for the creation of specific
productions or media broadcast. They are also in charge of
marketing ,scripting, funding the money and schedulling.
They have to make sure they know what each part of the
production company is doing especially if they are a big
company like universal or warner bros.
4. What is the job of a film distributor?
A film distributor is in charge of how a film is marketed this can either be a
company or an individual. A big company like universal or warner bros would
be able to hire out individual people to be film distributors for their company
however a smaller company may not be able to hire out certain individuals
which means they would have to be a film distributor as a company.
A film distrubutor sets the release date for a film and decides how audiences
can view the film this can range from home viewing (DVDs etc.) to trailers in
the cinema. The film distributor is very important to a production company
without them films might not be as successful.
5. Which film distributor would you choose for your film and why? What other
films have they distributed that are similar to yours?
Alliance films are a company i would choose for our film as they have helped
distribute films such as insidious and the possession. They are an experienced
company that have created and distributed a number of different films because
of this i believe they would be a good film distributor as they are well known
and recognised meaning our film may have more interest.
They have been responsible for releasing films on a global scale and have had a
lot of success doing so. They have distributed films that are very similar to ours
and that are in the same genre.
6. How would your film be funded?
Our film would hopefully be funded by the national lottery
UK film council as they would be able to fund us with some
money so that financial issues should not be a problem this
would also allow us to distribute our film throughout the
UK as it is UK funded. The national lottery council UK was
set up in 2000 to enable the development and promotion of
films in the film industry. The provide support to
filmmakers who have investment problems and people who
are capable of creating entertaining work.
7. Titles-Why do you need them? How have you presented
them?
We have included titles in our film opening because this is a necessary
requirement for films as people want to know who has been part of the film and
whos responsible for the production of the film. We have mentioned all the
people who have took part in the production of our film most roles were filled
by me and danielle however there were a few exceptions and we felt these
people had a right to be acknowledged.
We presented the titles clearly and made sure our audience would be able to
read them. We made sure the titles stayed on screen long enough for people to
be able to read them.
Our titles were effective for our film and made the film look more professional
than if we would not of included them.
