‘Dream’ – the artists’ dream is to be happy and in
control of her own life. During this chorus the artist
could be singing on stage which shows the audience
that she feels like singing on stage is the dream.
‘I thought I would break’ - at this point the artist
could be looking into space whilst on stage as if she
is thinking of how she has been feeling and how she
felt weak as if she was going to break.
‘Chorus’ – during the chorus there could be footage
of the artist off stage, showing her during hard times
and failures and also times of success throughout
her life .
During the second chorus there could be parts of her
performing but also with edited in footage of her not
on stage doing things she enjoys or succeeding in
something.
This part of the last verse is sang quickly and sharply,
it would go really well with a fast paste of footage of
her not on stage edited together.
The last chorus is at a slower paste than the others,
this is because the songs fades out as it gets to the
end. This should be the artist on stage singing with
passion and connecting with the audience.
When this part is being sung it should feature the
artist at a successful time in her life.
The ending should be the artist on stage and slowly
fade out with the music.
Home footage from when the artist was a child and
at different stages of her life could be used in the
music video, similar to the music video ‘Grown
Woman’ by Beyoncé.
It is important that there is some performance in the
music video so by having the artist on stage it means
that there is performance and it goes with her
dream.
The performance part of the video needs to be
dramatic, this will show through the artists’ body
language and facial expressions. Its needs to be
dramatic because the song and the lyrics are
dramatic.

Life story to success
Show the audience the artist believing in herself
through performance but also show times she didn’t
believe in her self, link in with lyrics but don’t make it
literal.
Before one of the choruses the artist could be
looking in a mirror at her self. She would be upset
and would look hopeless but frustrated.
In some parts the artist should be on stage and
should appear powerful to the audience.
I will use a lot of close up shots on the singers face,
this will show the audience her feelings and mood.
Long shots for Mise-en-scene.
Locations – on stage and various others.
Lighting – A dark stage but the spotlight on the artist.
This will give a really good affect and will make the
audience aware that the song is just about her and
no one else, this links with the lyrics.
The lyrics are powerful and have a powerful
meaning, there is a story behind the lyrics. It is about
someone who didn’t know what they was capable of
and now that they do they are much happier and
feel like they are capable of anything. This needs to
be shown in the music video.
