2. Today, I looked into different aspects of foley sounds and Mise-En-
Scene.
Overall, by looking into every aspect of Mise-En-Scene it has made me
consider what aspects go into making a successful horror opening and
because of this I feel that my research has therefore strengthened, as it
is now allowing me to know exactly what themes I want to convey in my
film opening, for example from this research I would want my female
actor to wear a classy outfit for as she is female boss and a smart black
suit for the male hit-man who is the main protagonist.
This task enabled me to think more depth into the possible Foley
sounds/Mise-En-Scene that I could include in my horror openings. From
looking at these tutorials I think my horror opening will be more
successful than it would have been if I hadn't looked at these tutorials.
3. Today, I researched into research into titles, sounds and editing of openings
of: Dawn of the Dead and Insidious. I focused on thriller genres as this is the
genre I am originally aiming to go with for my opening.
This task helped me to consider the use of titles, sounds and editing used in
the openings of Dawn of the Dead and Insidious and the connotations
behind each of them. This task also enabled me to consider the different
aspects in which go into each of them and how I could include this in my
own opening.
4. Today, I looked at the representation presented in the film opening of ‘The
Woman In Black’. I looked at many aspects of the opening, ranging from
characters, Mise-En-Scene and actors.
This task enabled me to consider representation in film openings in more
detail by looking into characters and Mise-En-Scene of the opening of the
woman in black. This task further developed by research and planning as it
allowed me to consider what aspects of mise-en-scene and characters go
into making a strong/successful film opening.
