2. INTRODUCTION:
This lesson differentiates the various levels of Biological
Organization from the cells to the whole organism. Body parts
of an organism so organized that they work together in
harmony. It will let you discover the cells as the structural and
functional unit of life, and also help you discover that plant
and animal cells have similarities and differences.
3. TOPICS:
• Levels of Biological Organization
• Parts of Plants and Animal cells
4. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lessons, students should be able to:
• I can justify how each level of biological organization work
together as one.
• I can identify the different parts of Plants and Animals cell.
5. • Cell is the basic unit of structure and function of all living things.
• Tissue refers to a group of cells which performs essentially the same function.
• Organ refers to one or more types of tissues that are organized as a unit to perform
certain functions of the body.
• Organ System consists of various organs which coordinate with one another to
perform a common function.
• Organism an individual is made up of one cell (if unicellular) or organ system (if
multicellular) that possess all the characteristics of the species to which it belongs.
• Population number of the species in an area.
• Community number of different species in an area.
6. • Ecosystem a complex of plant, animal, and microorganism
communities and their interactions with the environment in which they
live
• Biosphere the part of the earth in which life can exist.
• Cytologist is a person who specializes in the study of cells.
• Biology is a study of all living organisms.
• Zoology is the study of animals
• Botany is the study of plants
