• Understanding of the need to support girls’ education
• Empowering girls with skills for self- confidence, assertiveness,
speaking out , decision making
• Training the school community in the skill necessary to improve their
reproductive health & HIV/AIDS
• Training school community to manage sexual maturation issues of both
girls and boys
• Training teachers and students in guidance and counselling for
psychological development.

Gender bias in education
“ SITTING IN THE SAME CLASSROOM, READING THE SAME
TEXTBOOK, LISTENING TO THE SAME TEACHER BUT BOYS
& GIRLS RECEIVE VERY DIFFERENT EDUCATIONS.”

Gender Bias means unfair treatment of a person based on
gender( women or men)
Gender bias especially against women It is a common
problem in India and its outcomes are disastrous for
country.

(Discrimination on the basis of sex especially the oppression
of women by men.)

Cause of the gender discrimination
•Men dominating mentality
•Lack of strong protest by women
•Various social and religious belief
•Physical factor( treating women as weaker gender)
•Family rituals
•Male and female are two wings of the society,
development of the society is not possible without balance
between them.

•Till now females are not getting equal opportunity within
the family. Therefore there is a reason behind intra
household gender discrimination. The reason is purely “
selfishness” of the parents.
•It is found that female child is neglected in comparison to
her male counterpart in intra household distribution of
nutrient, health care and education.
