ACTIVITIES
INTRODUTION
Co-curricular activities (CCA s) earlier known as
extra curricular activities(ECA).Co-curricular
development can facilitate in the development of
various domains of mind and personality such as
social, moral, aesthetic development .Creativity,
enthusiasm, and energetic, positive thinking are
some of the facets of personality development ,
these can be supplemented by CCA s.
MEANING
Co-curricular activities generally mean that
, there are some activities during academic
period but it is not the academic work, at
the same time they can facilitate the
development of the child. that is , Co-
curricular activities are the activities have
to be do along with the curricular activities.
DEFINITION
Co-curricular activities are defined
as the activities that enables to
supplement and complement the
curricular or main syllabi activities

context of Environmental Education
• In the context of Environmental
education CCA s can nurture the
scientific knowledge among students.
• Field trip, collection, exhibition,film
shows, video shows, eco club activities
are some of the examples for the CCA
s helps to develop the interest in
Environmental science and education.

 A field trip is an outdoor lesson in
action
A field trip is a planned visit to a point
outside the classroom setting for
proper understanding

• Many of the scientific concepts require first hand
experience outside the classroom setting for
proper understanding
• It gives opportunities to collect samples, verity
hypotheses and interpret experience
• It bridges gap between theoretical concepts and
reality
• It can stimulate sensory organs(smell, touch, see,
hear)
• It bring joyful experience in learning environment
• Avoid monotony of regular classroom
COLLECTION
According to Oxford dictionary
‘Collection is the process of collecting
something, it may or may not related to
course work”
It is very important step in experimental
studies.Field trip like program helps to
collect samples

EXHIBITION
According to Wikipedia, An Exhibition in
the most general sense is an organized
presentation and display of selected items”
Exhibition is generally classified into two,
Art Exhibition and Science Exhibition.
Human making like
painting,drawing,crafts,SUPW items are the
main exhibition materials in art exhibition
Science exhibition is also known as
science fair
Here students exhibit science projects,
reports,display board,science related
charts,still and working model

themselves

students develop leadership quality

FILM SHOWS
In the context of Environmental
education , It is the process of showing
films related to environmental issues.
The Cove, Butterfly, Blue vinyl, Clouds of
smoke … etc are the famous
environmental films showing in schools

nature, can develop interest in environmental
studies.

the messages of the need of environmental

making.
As co-curricular activity many
schools take environmental and social
issues related short films and videos.

Through making short films or videos students
develop their acting skills, criticizing skills, and
writing skills …etc
By watching the short films and videos related to
environment, children and public also get an
awareness about issues.
It shows the clear concept, as everything can be
visualized and explained in details.
ECO CLUBS
Eco clubs play an important role in creating
environmental awareness among public
It is the platform of knowledge about environment
Road cleaning
Put campaign boards
planting flowering trees and shadow trees in road
sides
 Organize seminar, debates, lectures
and popular talk and environmental
issues in schools
Organize rallies, marches, human
chains, and street theatre in public
places, taking short films are the
common activities of eco club
BENEFITS OF ECO CLUB
The Eco club activities help to educate the students
about their environment
To create a clean and green consciousness among
students through various innovative methods
It helps to mobilize students towards scientific
enquiry into environmental problems
It motivates to take effort to preserve environment
It also motivates students how to
imbibe habits and life style for
minimum waste management
CONCLUSION
Co-curricular activities are the true practical
experience received to students . The
theoretical knowledge gets strengthened when
a relevant Co-curricular activity is organized . In
the context of Environmental education Co-
curricular activities have an important role .
Through the practical experience students
acquire knowledge, and they use the knowledge
in their life also.

INTRODUTION Co-curricular activities (CCA s) earlier known as extra curricular activities(ECA).Co-curricular development can facilitate in the development of various domains of mind and personality such as social, moral, aesthetic development .Creativity, enthusiasm, and energetic, positive thinking are some of the facets of personality development , these can be supplemented by CCA s.
  • 4. MEANING Co-curricular activities generally mean that , there are some activities during academic period but it is not the academic work, at the same time they can facilitate the development of the child. that is , Co- curricular activities are the activities have to be do along with the curricular activities.
  • 5. DEFINITION Co-curricular activities are defined as the activities that enables to supplement and complement the curricular or main syllabi activities Oxford Dictionary

Co-curricular activities in the context of Environmental Education • In the context of Environmental education CCA s can nurture the scientific knowledge among students. • Field trip, collection, exhibition,film shows, video shows, eco club activities are some of the examples for the CCA s helps to develop the interest in Environmental science and education.
  • 7. FIELD TRIP  A field trip is an outdoor lesson in action A field trip is a planned visit to a point outside the classroom setting for proper understanding

BENEFITS OF FIELD TRIP • Many of the scientific concepts require first hand experience outside the classroom setting for proper understanding • It gives opportunities to collect samples, verity hypotheses and interpret experience • It bridges gap between theoretical concepts and reality • It can stimulate sensory organs(smell, touch, see, hear) • It bring joyful experience in learning environment • Avoid monotony of regular classroom
