2. A.)Slump Cone test
 To Determine the workability of fresh concrete
 use for medium and high workability concrete
 Tools are used as follow
 Slump Cone Apparatus size 10 cm x 20 cm x 30 cm
 Tamping Rod size 16mmx60cm
 Scoop 100 mm
 Sampling tray 120cmx120cmx50mm
 Square mouthed shovel, size 2 in accordance with BS 3388.
Procedure
o Test method should be confirm to British standards Part 102-1881
o Sample should be collect as per British Standards Part 101-1881
o Avoid first and last part of the mix
o If the concrete is delivered in a mixing or agitating truck, the slump may be measured using
a sample obtained from the initial discharge
o After collecting, the samples should properly be mixed in sampling try

3. o Concrete should be properly mix before taking samples
o For columns and slabs slump should be in of of (+-13cm)
o Fill the concrete in 3 equal layers with 25 blows each layer
o Remove the mould from the concrete by raising it vertically, slowly and
carefully in 5 s to 10 s, in such a manner as to impart minimum lateral or
torsional movement to the concrete. The entire operation from the start of
filling to the removal of the mould shall be carried out without interruption
and shall be completed within 150 s
o The test is only valid if it yields a true slump, this being a slump in which
the concrete remains substantially intact and symmetrical as shown in
figure
