2. Time management - you must manage
your time wisely.
Tips include:
• Having a planner.
• Organizing assignments by priority.
• DO NOT wait till last minute to do an
assignment.
Double-check your work - Before turning
in your work, make sure you double check it.
Look for:
• Misspelled words.
• Grammar/punctuation issues.
• Plagiarism.
Cite your sources- When writing
anything that is not in your own words, it is
important to cite where you found it from.
Plagiarizing is something you do not want to
do and can result in a zero or even being
kicked out of the school.
Tips and Tricks:
LITE RATU RE REVIEW
The best assignment I did in this class was the Literature Review. The review includes writing about change
and requires you to synthesize at least three sources. You must find a relationship between them all and
discuss how they are involved in the topic you chose in writing about change. This class helped me excel at
essay writing and this assignment proved that I have excelled in my skills.
EVIDENCE-BASED WRITING:
This type of writing requires you to use outside
sources to support your claim with evidence. This
evidence must be able to support your claim. When
you have evidence to back up a claim you have
made, your argument will be strengthened.
SYNTHESIS WRITING:
Synthesis writing refers to combining
multiple sources and ideas. Using your own
words, it is a way of bringing together
different themes and writing about it.
WRITING ABOUT CHANGE:
Writing about change gave me a voice to talk about
something I cared about involving a change. This should
be an easy topic to write about considering change is
everywhere and always happening. Writing about change
gives you an opportunity to research a topic you are
passionate about. It is a great way to understand how to
fix the problem/ figure out what’s changing.
Types of sources:
• Research Studies
• Research Data
• Statistics
• Opinions from Experts.
Important Factors:
• Find a relationship between the sources you
choose.
• Find similar key points throughout all sources.
Things to take into consideration:
• Make sure you write about something you are
passionate about so you can enjoy what you are
doing.
• It is important to take in all perceptions and
opinions about a change that is happening before
writing about it.
