1. Looking back at your feel
you have learnt in the
progression from it to
the opening sequence?
QUESTION 7
2. Progression from the Beginning
From beginning the experience that I had was everything was new and alien. I had to adapt
and take some time to learn several things.
The first challenge was the preliminary task, where we learnt how to set up the studio. This
insisted of learning how to set up a tripod and place an IPad on the tripod. We also spent
some time with learning the lighting equipment and how to be safe with it.
As it was the first time being introduced into this technology like multi-camera, there were a
lot of error with camera work and editing.
During the progression I learnt from all the faults and
errors. It made me more confident and if I could
do this task again it would definitely a
lot better.
3. Progression
During the progression I have learned different types of termology, from
words that are put on blog or words that I say in the studio such as rolling
camera or Action that were important to use during my opening sequence.
This is because it is quick and easy comments to use to order the actor and
cast around.
During the progression I was the cameraman for my opening sequence. I
had learnt different camera angles and its termology. My use of camera has
improved also. Learning how to use the camera and how it function was
important task in our opening sequence. Now I understand what are good
shots, and what will work best with the type of movie I’m creating.
However, when I had some weaknesses during the progression. Time
management was a key part in being successful in this AS media filming
production. Before starting the filming production, I needed to complete
several pieces of paper work before progressing into filming. The weakness
that I had was completing the tasks on time, this affected us in which we
couldn’t find a actor and everything had to be rushed in the main
production.
4. Progression
I have learnt how to use final cut pro after creating my opening sequence.
My editing has improved since the beginning of editing. I now understand
how to avoid errors such as continuity. This helps create a far better
looking opening sequence.
I feel that I have learnt a lot of new skills, and have progressed greatly
since the when I first stepped into a media studio to now.
5. Improvements
So far in my AS Media it has been a good positive experience. However,
there are mistakes that I will need to improve and challenge myself not to
do in A2 :
I will need to keep track of my time management
Not to rush things as it will need to a domino effect of bad things
happening
Practice makes Perfect. I will need to practice camera shots if I’m the
camera man.
