The document discusses the author's progress in developing filmmaking skills since an initial preliminary task. Specifically:
1) When they started, the author did not understand how to write a script, edit footage, or film properly. However, they have since learned key editing and sound software like After Effects as well as the important editing software Premiere Pro.
2) Another important skill developed was learning how to storyboard shots precisely and understand why techniques like the 180 degree rule are important for camera work.
3) Overall, the author feels they have come a long way, progressing from having no filmmaking knowledge to being able to produce the opening of a film, showing huge growth from their preliminary work.
Hadj Ounis's most notable work is his sculpture titled "Metamorphosis." This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. 2. • When looking back at the first preliminary task that we did, I feel that
since then I have come on in great leaps and bounds in terms of my
knowledge. When we first created our preliminary film I didn’t
understand how to correctly write a script edit or even film a piece of
footage.
3. • One of the first developments I feel I have made is learning how to used the different
programmes needed for editing and sound. I was introduced to after effects and learnt
how to create font and then animate it within a piece of footage. This was one of the
most challenging skills that I have learnt since there are so many steps to follow in
order to create simple affects. Its been a struggle to remember the tools needed and
how to apply them. But other time I feel my knowledge and understanding has slowly
increased. Another skill that I have learnt which I feel was the most important out of all
of them was editing software in adobe premiere pro. This piece of software is at the
core of the work that I have bee able to produce and without it I wouldn’t have been
able to produce anything to a high standard. When I first used premiere pro my
knowledge was minimal to none and the thought of editing was daunting. But since
then I have had to use this product and get to terms with how I can use it to my
advantage. I feel this is the skill that has progressed the most since the preliminary
project because my knowledge and skills have had to progress rather quickly.
4. • As skill I didn’t think I needed to develop at all was learning how to write a script and
storyboard. It was difficult in the beginning to learn that every single shot needed to
be recorded in a storyboard, learning that the angle needed to be drawn precisely was
something that took a while to learn but over time I have gotten to grips with.
•
• Another skill that I have learnt was the rules of camera work. Learning why the 180 rule
is important, learning about the different shots and how they can add to a film. These
are all new techniques that I have learnt, in my first preliminary task we included long
shots mid shots the 180 degree rule and match on action, we also included high and
low shots. This was a small minimal range of shots and since then it has developed into
using these shots multiple times but also including things such as extreme close ups a
wide range of motion, we included filming from the main protagonists point of view
etc..

5. • For me overall I think the transition from the preliminary task to the final
product has been huge I have gone from no knowledge about how to
edit a film write a script and storyboard to being able to produce a
opening to a film.
