2. NME – Plan B
NME did a feature cover of rap artist Plan B, as
he is dressed in a grey hoodie, giving a finger
gesture and also holding a cigarette in his
mouth. We can infer that the artist is very
informal and by the finger gesture and
cigarette he’s holding- this can express anger
and show danger.
We see no happy facial expression from the
artist.
The way the artist seems to be dressed and
the way he is standing looks like how someone
around street corners would act.
The close up shot of the artist can be
intimidating as he takes up most of the space
on the cover
3. Billboard – Taylor Swift
Billboard did a cover feature of
singer/songwriter Taylor Swift. In this cover the
artist gives off this innocent – princess like
look/attitude about her. We can see that the
artist is smiling and is placing her hands under
her chin, The reader would this that the artist is
a nice innocent beautiful person. The artists
perfect curled hair and the dress she is wearing
sows that shows that the artists is very neat and
tidy.. Also fashionable. The medium and the lack
of writing makes a focus on the model.
4. NME - Kasabian
NME did a feature cover of Kasabian on
their front cover of their magazine.
We can see both the artists expressionless.
This shows some sophistication. The model
standing in front is raising his eyebrow, it’s
like he is planning something or thinking
about something to come.
The man standing at the back is seen to not
be looking at the camera which could show
that he is in deep thought. The medium
shot of both artists are at the same height
level which shows they are people of equal
importance
