• Most of the space inside the atom is empty

little space
• All positive charge and mass of the atom
were concentrated in a very small volume
within the atom

• Atom has a central part called nucleus.
• Nucleus is very small as compared to the size of
the atom.
• All positive charges and most of the mass of
atom are concentrated on nucleus.
• Negatively charged electrons are revolving
around the nucleus in a cercular path.

13. CONCEPTS OF BOHR MODEL
• Electron revolve around the nucleus in fixed paths
called orbits or shells.
• Electrons in each she'll have a definite
energy.Hence shells are also called energy levels.
• As long as an electron revolves in a particular
orbits,its energy remains constant.
• The energy of the shells increases as distance from
the nucleus increase.
• The shells around the nucleus can be numbered
from near the nucleus as 1,2,3,4,..... or represented
by the letters K,L,M,N,........
