2.  You MUST conduct a questionnaire/survey/interview or a combination of all three.
Summarise this and add in any other primary research you feel is appropriate

3. It is clear that 35% of my audience watched more films between 2-6 hours a day and
roughly 25% spent 7-10 hours a day watching films.
This shows that my audience enjoy watching films and will happily spend many hours
watching films.
4. The most popular genre is action as 35% have answered. The “other” section
have answered with “Thriller” and “Horror Comedy” but it is clear Action is the
most popular genre and comedy is the runner up.
5. Most of my audience watch their Films on Netflix(44%) and YouTube(25%) mainly
closely followed by Putlocker (18%). This means my video should be available on
YouTube and Netflix if it were to be a real film.
6. The majority of my audience prefer to watch Films on the TV (35%) The same
percentage of people who prefer to watch on their Ipad(18%) is the same
percentage as those to PC and Laptop which means if I were to make this into
a real film I’d have to make it tablet friendly and also DVD.
7. It is clear most of my audience prefer to watch films alone (73%) but some also
with friends and girlfriend/partner.
8. Many prefer to watch films in the evening (63%) but some also enjoy them
All day.
9. The aspects my audience would prefer to have in the film are real
life issues with elements of fantasy and some inspiration. This helps
me a lot as those are all what I’m aiming to include in my film
anyway.
10. My audience would like a short film to last between 1-5 mins. Many
more prefer a 5 minuet short film but since our project can only be a
minuet I will keep this in mind if I ever need to/want to make a short
video again.

20. We see the durations vary from approximately 3-15 mins. This shows that it is
perhaps the maximum for a short film, when it comes to bullying. It gives them
enough time to set the scene and create the story to get their point across and
to create the right atmosphere.
We see these videos have a large view rating. There are also many comments
and they all seem to have at least one person in that section of comments who
has been bullied themselves.
21.  In order to display this bullying for 12+ I would include people whispering behind
her and throwing a paper ball at her and use no obscene languages in the title
text. I will also highlight reaction shots to “show not tell” the situations and
emotions. This is to show the effects of bullying so all can relate to the story line.
22.  Research potential production techniques you might want to use
or feel would be most appropriate – these can be related to
camera, editing, story, sound, etc
 You should look at a minimum of 3 related products in your
research.
 You should collect clips/still images/how to guides/etc that might
help you. When watching scenes from films, etc you could also
ask potential target audience what they think.
 You will need to add extra slides!
 With each technique you should assess whether you can use it or
how you might employ or why you may want to disregard it
completely

This shot shows the bullies staring at the girl as she walks past.
This was at first a “tracking” shot that zoomed into reactions.
This works well as we can already see who is the victim and who is the bully.

This was one continuous shot as it Pans around in an arc to show the note. Having
one continuous shots help the audience to be more personal with the character.
This is an effective way to “show not tell” what is going on.
25. This is a shot-reverse-shot technique. This is used to show two actors
reaction and faces to show emotion. I could use this with a rack focus to
create the tension.

-Focus
We used a manual focus setting to make sure we fully focused each shot in an
chronological order which helped with the focusing and made it easier.
-Queued each other
This was used to make sure everyone was in place and we shot it as it was an went
back to change shots to fit the frames. Next time we would have everything set up in
frame first of all.
-Retook a few shots
Some shots we weren’t concentrating or there was an accidental recording. This
could have been avoided. Because of this the process was slower and copying over
clips took more time as there were the added bloopers and miss recordings.
-Location: College
Because we did it in a chronological order we did not need to visit the same location
twice over. This prevented issues that could have arisen such as continuity areas.
28.  Chronological order: I will film in chronological order to speed up
the process.
 Manual focus: Manual focusing can make sure that all shots are
focused where I would like and need them to be which gives me
more control over my project.
 Preventing continuity errors: Reviewing footage in the filming
location therefore we wouldn't’t have to return to the same
location twice.
29.  My editing includes: Slow mo, close up of legs: cut, Black and white:
darkened and Many fast cuts and a black out as it is a horror film
element. My own film will not be a Horror but we were
experimenting with different shots and angles and including effects.

30.  My audio was using a spy sound track mixed in with some screams
and other effects. This created the right feel for my film better than I
could if I were to do the sound effects myself. I made sure all the
sounds were in the right place and timed perfectly.
31.  What elements of your experiments will you include in your final
product?
 I will use my editing skills including the black out
 The type of shots such as medium shots.
