Good Morning –
Since the quiz component of your MATH125 courses is in Unit 6, we’ve put together the attached set of slides to assist you AND to provide you with important information related to how the questions are presented, how grading occurs, where to find the correct responses, etc. Your first step should be to read the Unit 6 – Quiz Assignment Details thoroughly and then review the slide deck.
Please let me know if I can help ensure your success.
Thanks,
Andy

3. QUIZZES (WEEKS 6 AND 10)
Taking the quiz
Students must access the quiz from the Assessment details by clicking on the ‘Exam’ button
(NOT from the steps). The only clickable link from the steps takes them to the Assignment
Details.
4. QUIZZES (WEEKS 6 AND 10)
Taking the quiz
Students must access the quiz
from the Assessment details by
clicking on the ‘Exam’ button
Instructions on accessing the
quiz are also provided
5. QUIZZES (WEEKS 6 AND 10)
Taking the quiz
Students get 45 minutes to complete the
quiz
Students are allowed two attempts
The quiz has 14 questions
All the questions are randomized each time
All answers are randomized each time
Items are randomly selected from a pool of
18 items (to be expanded to 40 questions in
2021)
6. QUIZZES (WEEKS 6 AND 10)
Submitting the quiz
• When the time allocated has elapsed, the quiz will auto-submit the results
• The student has no way to “log out” of the quiz. If for any reason they do leave the quiz
without choosing to submit the quiz (technical issue, etc.), time will resume when they
re-enter the quiz (if there was time left)
• Students see a single list that the students can go down, answer all 14 items and then
click the submit button
• If the student has one or more unanswered
questions they'll be given a warning that
they need to answer everything. If they click
OK, then it will process the Submit and if
they click Cancel, they can go back in and
update any unanswered questions
7. QUIZZES (WEEKS 6 AND 10)
Grading and Feedback
• Upon submission
• the student is shown their overall score
• the grade is automatically transferred into the
gradebook*
• Currently the quiz keeps the second attempt for the
gradebook
• If a student does not take the quiz the faculty needs to
enter a zero
• The answer key is available to faculty in the Model
Answer section
• Currently individual student performance by item is not
available. Students will need details to tell faculty on
where they are having issues
* No way to levy a late penalty on quizzes because grade is entered automatically
