Letter of Recommendation
I would like to give my very strong recommendation for Oktay Bahceci. I came to know Oktay in my
database course (DD1368) that I gave in the Spring of 2014. Oktay struck me as one of the leading
students in the course; based on the intelligent and constructive questions he posed during lecture, it was
clear that he gained a quick mastery of the subject matter. I was not in the least surprised to see Oktay
score among the best on the final exam (note that I grade exams blindly, so the positive impression Oktay
gave did not influence the scoring of his exam). Oktay received an A in the course (17% of the students
achieved this).
In picking 2015 recitation leaders for DD1368, Oktay was at the top of my list. I was very pleased when
he accepted the role and, as expected, he is doing a superb job. Note also that Oktay was one of the
leading assistants for DD1339 when I taught part of that course in Fall 2014. Again Oktay did a superb
job and was very constructive and professional in his behavior. I do not hesitate in the least to give my
highest recommendations for Oktay Bahceci. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Yours sincerely,
