2. HOW ARE MALES REPRESNTED?
n my media production- ‘The Last Resource’ the one male
character ‘Chris’ is portrayed as the antagonist within the
storyline , in his search for the last resource he will do anything
in his power to find it. Furthermore, as seen in the very start of
my post apocalyptic film ‘Chris’ is the one that takes ‘Olivia’ in
the distressing scene. However, Chris’s identity is never fully
revealed in the production, this is partly due to this only being a
film opening and the mystery to be upheld, but this also gives
Chris a sense of power and authority.
3. HOW ARE FEMALES REPRESENTED?
ithin our media production, two female characters are portrayed; these are:
livia- Illustrates the stereotypical ‘girly girl’ in the sense that she comes
across to the audience as significantly whiny of the difficult journey, as well
as the vulnerable side which is shown when she is taken by Chris.
ophie- On the other hand, she represents a contrast to female stereotypes.
This is evidently shown through her strong, independent personality and
attitude. Moreover, Sophie acts as the protagonist- due to her ensuring that
the journey is continued and essentially ‘carries’ Olivia and keeps survival a
priority.
4. HOW IS THE FACTOR OF AGE REPRESENTED?
n terms of age represented in my media production,
all characters featured are teenagers age 16-17. This
is due to their youth and energy being an advantage
to survival in comparison to older generations.
Furthermore, our use of only teenagers could also be
pragmatically suggesting that the character's parents
have been tragically killed in the devastation that has
led to the post apocalyptic world.
