3. Advantages of sourcing images this way:
The advantages of sourcing images this way are that the images may be older and
not as commonly used as the ones on google, this is good because not a lot of
people will necessarily be using that same image which means, it’s better for you to
use for a brand or something, even in your work because most people look on google
because it’s easier and quicker but really books are the better way if your wanting to
find an image not a lot of people would use. there is also a lot more variety of them
because you can find older ones and historic images, another advantage is that in a
book it would tell you the name of the photographer and where the image has been
taken, with this you can also find out what the copy right license is to see if you can
use the image and modify it. You can also find books purely on the topic that you
want rather than having to look through a hole book to find what you need.
Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:
There are disadvantages for this which are that you have to go and find the book you
are looking for, and this could take up time, and look for a specific type of image
which could be hard to find as you might have to look through a majority of books to
find the one you are looking for as not all books will have all the different types of
images in. Another disadvantage is that the images may be low quality therefor they
might be harder to reuse. And copyright issues can still occur even though you have
taken an image from a book, as you don’t really know if its labelled for reuse or if its
been produced purely just for that book so you still need to be careful when sourcing
images from books. Another disadvantage is that it takes a long time to make digital
copies and when they do they may be bad quality.
5. Advantages of sourcing images this way:
The advantages of sourcing images this way is that they are very easy to find, you
can pretty much find any image you are looking for.
The images on google are free to get, it doesn't’t cost to download them.
They are also quick to get, it doesn't take long to get an image from google at all. On
google there is a wide variety of images, you can easily search and refine your
searches, it also gives you a tool menu which you can then find images which are
labelled for reuse and modify which might help copy right issues, you can also choose
the size of the image you are wanting and the specific colours you are wanting which
makes it easier for you because your not having to go out and search all over, just a
few clicks and your done. You can also include refining it to royalty free images and
what dimension or orientation you would like and its completely free and they don’t
have watermarks on
Disadvantages of sourcing images this way
There is disadvantages to this some being, copy right issues, and the quality of the
image may not be outstanding.
Another huge disadvantage to sourcing images this way is also because of the simple
reason that loads of people could be using the same image as you because certain
ones will pop up all the time and most people cant be bothered to scroll onto the other
pages and they just pick whatever is on the first page, most people do, and is you’re a
brand or a business looking for images this cant be a good thing because its not
going to help you brand as the image has been used over and over again already, its
better to have your own image then no one as got it or used it.
7. Advantages of sourcing images this way:
The advantages of sourcing images this way are that the image is free from
copyright because your paying for it, the images are also high quality images.
Another advantage of sourcing images through stock image library is that they
are relatively easy to find a bit like google loads will come up, and they usually
provide relative information about the picture such as the resolution and size
which is good to know because if you are wanting to work with an image it’s
good to know the information about it like that because you could make sure
you get one that’s good enough to work with for what you want to do.
Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:
The disadvantages of sourcing images this way are that you have to pay for
them, and you cant screenshot them because they have a logo all over them to
stop you doing that, another disadvantage of sourcing images this way is that
everyone else can still have the same image as you as they can also have
access to the stock website just because you’ve paid for the image it doesn't
necessarily make it just yours, for example if a brand wanted to use an image
as their own they wouldn't’t necessarily be able to as other people can buy that
same image to use so it could end up being that other brands also have the
same identical image, so they would be better of using their own images they
have taken specifically for their brand
9. Advantages of sourcing images this way:
The advantages of using your own images are that you know what images are
relevant to your projects and therefor you can take images which are suitable.
Another advantages to sourcing your own images are that you wont get done
for copy right issues are they are your own image therefor you can do whatever
you want with them. Another very good advantage is that because you have
taken the images yourself they are free, it doesn't’t cost to import them or
anything because you produced the images.
Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:
The disadvantages of sourcing your own images are that it could take a while to
be able to travel to location or scene of the images your wanting to take.
Another disadvantage to sourcing your own images are that it could get
expensive because of the equipment such as a camera, tripod etc.. So in theory
it could be cheaper to by an image from stock image library or even grab one of
google but then you risk copyright issues and the fact other people might have
the same image.
15. Advantages of different resolutions:
The advantages of the different resolutions are that if your using a high
resolution image it will show greater detail for big printouts and wall posters
because the quality stays the same. Another advantage is that if your using a
smaller resolution the image will look great in small icons because they dispkay
the highest quality possible
Disadvantages of different resolutions:
The disadvantages of different resolutions can be that they are not versatile as
to how many different sizes they can produce while maintaining the same
quality without making the image go blurry.
17. Explain the changes you made to the image and explain why you made
those changes:
The changes that I have made to this image that I took is the colour of the sky I
made it a pinky sunrise colour because I thought that having a nice pink sky
instead of having a blue sky because the sea is blue and I wanted something
that looked a little bit surreal which is also why I have added in the glass pot
with the sun behind it, to make the image look surreal and slightly fantasy like.
The final image looks like something you would see on a canvas for wall art
decorations in homes or down corridors. I also changed the brightness and
contrast of this image because it was dull but now it looks more vibrant and
lively. And I did change the opacity on the glass bottle so that the sky and the
sun would shine through it.
