Hybridoma Technology ( Production , Purification , and Application )
Unit 3 natural science 5th
1. UNIT 3- PLANTS Natural Science 5th
Plant nutrition includes two different processes: photosynthesis, in
which a plant makes its food, and respiration, in which it uses the
food.
The plant organs involved in nutrition are the roots, the stem and
the leaves.
THE PROCESSES OF NUTRITION
To make food, plants perform photosynthesis. To do this they
need: water and minerals, which their roots absorb from the
soil; carbon dioxide and energy from sunlight.
THE PROCESSES OF REPRODUCTION
Plants can perform both sexual and asexual reproduction.
In asexual reproduction an individual produces offspring that
are identical to it. This can occur through spores or other
parts of a plant.
Sexual reproduction involves two individuals: one with male
reproductive organs and one with female reproductive organs.
It occurs in both plants without seeds and plants with seeds.
