• WHAT IS TENSE?
TENSES ARE TAKEN BY VERBS TO SHOW THE TIME OF AN ACTION OR
THE STATE OF EVENT.
• ON THE BASED OF TIME FRAME
THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF TENSE
o PRESENT TENSE
o PAST TENSE
o FUTURE TENSE
BASED ON ASPECT
• VERBS CAN ALSO BE CATEGORIZED ACCORDING TO ASPECT.
• ASPECTS REFERS TO THE NATURE OF THE ACTION DESCRIBED BY THE VERB.
THERE ARE FOUR ASPECTS:
• INDEFINITE /SIMPLE
• CONTINUOUS/PROGRESSIVE
• PERFECT/COMPLETE
• PERFECT CONTINUOUS
PRESENT TENSE
• WHAT IS PRESENT TENSE?
PRESENT EXPRESS AN UNCHANGING, REPEATED, OR
REOCCURRING ACTION OR SITUATION THAT EXISTS ONLY NOW.
• PRESENT INDEFINITE
• PRESENT CONTINUOUS
• PRESENT PERFECT
• PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
PRESENT INDEFINITE TENSE
• PRESENT INDEFINITE TENSE IS USE TO EXPRESS AN ACTION THAT TAKE PLACE IN THE PRESENT ONCE OR REGULARLY

PARTICULAR TIME IN THE PRESENT OR EXTENDING OVER A PERIOD OF PRESENT TIME.
