Media are ways of sending
information to people.TV, radio, movies,
newspaper, and magazines are media.An ad,
or advertisement, that used words and
pictures can be found in printed materials and
on billboards.
A commercial is an ad on the radio or
television.
Companies place commercials in TV
shows that young people like to watch, put ads
in magazines that people like to read.
Advertisers hope that you will remember the
product and are more likely to want to buy it.
4. Analyzing ads
Who make the ad?
Companies spend millions of dollars to make
ads. They use many tricks to make you want to buy their
brands. Famous people are paid to be in ads. Companies
think that using famous people will make you notice the
ad.
Ads also may use humor. If you think an ad is
funny or you like the music in an ad, you might be more
likely to remember it and buy it.
