6. OneNote for O365 – Merge Schedule
2019 2021
Current state
• Adding more engineers to improve throughput.
• Finished diffing. 1/3 completed in merge effort.
• Executable now launches (with a lot of stubs, without canvas), modern sync appears to be functional.
• Finished implementing dynamic flighting foundation (shim .exe).
Risk
• Projected to ship from July fork prod even with funding increase (was June before).
• Remaining 2/3 of the merge is expected to be more difficult.
• Stabilization Cost: We still don’t know how expensive this is going to be.
• Modern sync rollout is gated on the removal of the flighting to switch between win32 versions.
